CHAPTER 18

“Are y’all going to be all right here while Evan and I are gone?” Lindsey asked Courtney setting her luggage by the door.

“Yes Lindsey we’re grown we can handle ourselves.” Courtney replied from the couch.

“Okay well look Evan and I love having y’all here, and we want y’all to be comfortable. I also want y’all to have a great Christmas…”

“Where are you going with this Lindsey?” Courtney asked cutting her off.

“If you’d let me finish you’d find out.” Lindsey responded.

“Okay finish.”

“What I was trying to say before I was rudely interrupted is that although I love y’all and what’s mine is yours as long as your living here, please don’t let Raphael and his family tear up my house.”

“Lindsey don’t worry Raphael and I will keep everyone in check. So go to New York enjoy Christmas and stop trippin’.”

“Excuse me, when did you start using words like trippin’?” Lindsey teased.

“Since I’ve been with Raphael, that man is rubbing off on me in more ways than one. I love him so much though.”

“Y’all make a great couple, and you’re so cute together.”

“Ah thanks Lindsey I love you.”

“I love you too, take care of yourself and my nephews don’t have them before I get back.”

“When exactly are y’all coming back anyway?”

“After New Year’s Evan is DJing for some parties.”

“Okay well have fun, and I’m going to call you Christmas morning.”

“You better or else.”

Due to her condition everyone thought it was in the best interest of the twins that Courtney didn’t travel until after they were born. Especially on a plane knowing that her water could break at any minute and send her into premature labor. Since Lindsey, Evan, and their children made plans to go to New York months ago they couldn’t cancel. So Lindsey gave Raphael permission to celebrate Christmas with his family at her house.

“Okay who puts up Christmas decorations three days before Christmas?” Raphael asked stringing the lights on the tree.

“This isn’t normal for our family, but since we were supposed to go to California, and Lindsey and Evan are in New York there was no point in decorating earlier. But now that our plans have changed we don’t have a choice. So do the lights on the tree, the decorations outside, and stop complaining. You do know all this is for your family don’t you?” Courtney said opening the ornaments.

“Yeah but you do know soon they’ll be your family too?”

“I know and I’ll be proud to call them my family when the time co mes.”

After the tree and the decorations were done and the presents were wrapped neatly under the tree Raphael had to go pick up Simeon. Before leaving he kissed Courtney who was asleep on the chaise in the living room on the lips, then he kissed her stomach.

“Yo’ lil guys this is daddy I love you very much. Y’all take your time in there no one’s rushing all right we want you both born healthy and strong like daddy.” He told them rubbing Courtney’s belly.
